I've been working on a new website for the past month or so and am getting ready to reveal it on May 1st. Not only will the site look completely different, but it will offer a new shopping experience as well.

SXSW!

It's that time of year again...Spring is in the air & that can only mean one thing around Austin, TX. SXSW!

This year is shaping up to be one of the best. So if you are planning a trip here in the next few weeks please be sure to stop by the local artist's market that I'm organizing. We'll be setting up in the Guero's parking lot & there will be live music showcases all three days!

On Wednesday I've got my last class that I'm teaching at the Griffin School & a fabulous Holiday Soirée at Adelante Boutique located at 1206 W. 38th St. This event is sponsored by Jewell magazine & benefits the Capital Area Food Bank. Bring non-perishable food items to donate and receive an Adelante tote & entry into their raffle. All are invited!

How exciting that this world wide web thing actually took off? LOL!

Tasty Jewelry Trunk Show

December is local artists month at Adelante Boutique and I'm going to be showcasing my latest designs during a trunk show Friday Dec 3rd & Saturday Dec 4th from 10am - 5pm.

On Wednesday Dec 1st you can mix & mingle with the artists participating at a special Holiday Soirée! The event will be sponsored by Jewell magazine and benefits the Capital Area Food Bank. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate. If you do you will receive an Adelante tote bag & be entered into their raffle.

So come out and support your local artists & Tasty Jewelry next week!!!

Website is updated!!!!

I've been working on changing the website for some time now. Adding new things, taking off others, and now it's finally done. Well, almost...

"Tasty" is the section where you'll see the printed graphic & colorful goodies that have been a staple on the website. "Delicious" is the section where you'll see modern, contemporary jewelry using semi-precious stones & materials. And now I've decided to add a new section called "Delectable" where the designs will cater to brides & bridesmaids. I've been designing for them for some time now and decided to finally make it "official" and add some goodies to the site. Unfortunately, that area is still under construction so please check back soon for the updates...

Maison de Noir Wins!

Austin Fashion Week was amazing this year...lots of work, lots of parties & lots of fashion. My team "Maison de Noir" (see previous post for more info) was the Critic's Choice winner for best Mash Up team! How exciting!

Here we are on stage accepting our "Golden Boot" award!



Sadly we were missing our designer Louise Black who I saw later at the after party. She was the incredible designer of the amazing outfit that Lauren modeled for us.

Austin Fashion Week

It's here again! Austin Fashion Week and it's going to be bad ass.

Something new this year; the designers have been put into "Mash Up" groups consisting of randomly selected designers brought together to create one look. Our team "Maison de Noir" submitted our photo for consideration and the actual photograph will then be sold during the Kick Off event this Saturday, August 14th with the proceeds going to Dress for Success. That same look will then be presented on a runway during a fashion show!

World Cup final...

Well, I can't believe it's been a month since the World Cup started. What a ride it's been. My four teams this year to watch were: USA, Germany, Spain & the Netherlands. Needless to say this has been one incredible tournament for me to watch indeed! I will be sad when it's all over...

So on the eve of the final match being played by the Netherlands and Spain, I offer one more post about the gorgeous men of the World Cup. After tomorrow, we have to wait another four years for a new crop of goodies to come our way...

Ok ladies...

So I've been an avid football (soccer) fan for a very long time and I think it's time to finally share a little bit of the reason why I like watching "the beautiful game" so much. Watching these men on the pitch is quite exciting if you know the rules of the game, but you don't really need to know much to enjoy watching.

When you realize the amount of physical strength, dexterity and stamina these men have to be able to run around for 90 minutes straight with a 15 minute break - it will blow your mind. I consider them the most fit athletes on the planet. So take that into consideration about other areas of their life and, well, you get the point.

Here are a few of the men you should watch for during this most incredible of events happening for the next month called the World Cup. Maybe you've heard of it?

I must say that if I'm going to spend time watching a sport this is going to be the way to do it. It's continuous play so you don't have waste 4 hours of your time watching fat guys stop and start every 5 seconds between watching lame beer commercials.
