Busy Week!!!

'Tis the season for running around like a crazy person catching myself coming and going.

On Wednesday I've got my last class that I'm teaching at the Griffin School & a fabulous Holiday Soirée at Adelante Boutique located at 1206 W. 38th St. This event is sponsored by Jewell magazine & benefits the Capital Area Food Bank. Bring non-perishable food items to donate and receive an Adelante tote & entry into their raffle. All are invited!


Then following that up with First Thursday:



And a wonderful two day trunk show at Adelante Boutique from 10 - 5:30pm:

First Thursday canceled

Sorry to say, but tonight's set up for First Thursday has been canceled due to the crazy rain we've been having for the past few days...

I'll be back next month with lots of great stuff, so come by and see me then. Thursday March 4th from 5:30pm - 10 pm.

Booth set up

After all of that crazy work last week to get my new booth displays made I thought I might share some pictures with you.

Here's the whole thing set up in my living room as I was working on it.



I really didn't have to change anything when I got outside. I was a bit worried that some of the displays might be a bit light and would blow over in the wind, but with a little clear packing tape strategically placed, I didn't have any problems at all.



I made the table cloth myself out of some white vinyl. It worked out perfectly and I think gives the whole table a clean & professional look. All the other displays I made myself and just gave them an updated look with some white lacquer.

I think the effort was well worth it. I really enjoyed challenging myself, yet again, to keep updating and making Tasty Jewelry bigger and better than ever.

first thursday tonight oct 2nd

if you live in austin, tx then the place to be tonight is first thursday down on south congress ave. its a monthly celebration of all things austin...live music, art, & good food. there are loads of street vendors with items ranging from candles & clothing to mosaic work & jewelry. speaking of the latter, i have been setting up a booth in the guero's taco bar parking lot now for the past 2 years! i found this photo on flickr and it just happened to show my booth in the background. (you can click on the picture to be taken to the "first thursday" website.)



first thursday is a great way to get to know austin's crazy side, well really, does it have any other? its a great place to find unique hand made items and do loads of people watching. so come on out and see me!

first thursday in austin

on the first thursday of each month, the city of austin holds an amazing event celebrating its "weirdness" and allows artisans of all types to line the streets of south congress to sell their wares. i have participated in "first thursday" now on and off for the past 2 years. its a great way for me to show my jewelry and really connect with my customer.

i have met some really amazing people doing this one of which is my new friend david from 302 designs. they specialize in organic printed t-shirts with a meaningful message. its an awesome company with a great philosophy, one which i believe in as well. here's an example of one of their shirts:

the message says: "as the trees come to leaf we shed our winter skins and we are born anew in the spring sun"



i thought this one was appropriate for spring. they also offer men's tees so go have a look.
